High-Efficiency Ducted Steerprop Azimuth Propulsors for three vessels to be built in China.

In late August and early September 2013, Steerprop Ltd. signed contracts with Chinese customers to deliver main propulsion azimuth propulsors for three offshore support vessels due to be built in China in 2014. All three vessels will be equipped with two 2000 kW SP 25 D Ducted Azimuth Propulsors. The propulsors will be delivered in mid-2014.
All of these propulsors will be equipped with the Steerprop HJ3 high efficiency nozzle. These high efficiency nozzles are hydrodynamically optimized to improve bollard pull without compromising free running efficiency. This combination of thrust and efficiency is sometimes very important in vessels that require both high bollard pull and efficiency such as Platform Support Vessels or other Offshore Support Vessels.
